The Effectiveness of Islamic Happiness Theory on the Happiness of Married Women in Isfahan

Abstract
The aim of the present study is to investigate the effectiveness of happiness training on women's happiness in Isfahan city according to Islamic concepts. It is a kind of semi-experimental control research with the pretest-posttest-follow up design in which random sampling is applied. Accordingly, 26 women, who were members of cultural sites of Isfahan city, were randomly selected and assigned to two experimental and control groups. The experimental group attended in sessions of happiness training based on Islamic concepts. The training period included 7 sessions and each session was 2 hours. After a lapse of one month, the follow-up stage was carried out. Oxford Happiness Inventory (Argyle & Lu, 1989) was used as the measuring instrument. In order to analyze the data, repeated measuring of variance was applied. The results show that happiness training according to Islamic concepts has a significant effect on happiness (P < 0.01).
